Hanami literally means “flower viewing”, but it commonly refers only to Cherry Blossom viewing. I should say it’s one of the Japanese culture. As you know, they are in bloom in springtime (between late March and early April, just about 7 days), so people get together under the cherry tree and enjoy the cherry blossom viewing picnic.
